Combat

Phantom Blade Zero cover art

Steam describes combat as connected combos built around dodging, deflecting, countering and striking. S-GAME’s founder adds that weapon choice, accessories and other support options let players shape a setup.

Piece What the official descriptions say
Action flow Combos are described as seamless; dodge, deflect, counter and strike are named as core actions.
Weapon setup More than 30 main weapons and Phantom Edges are described in the weapon reference. Weapons can be upgraded and paired with accessories.
Additional options The PlayStation Blog mentions ranged attacks and summons as ways to approach combat.
Reinvestment Reforging an upgraded weapon returns its upgrade materials for use elsewhere; the published description does not give the exact amount or cost.

Start by reading the available move and equipment descriptions, then change one part of a setup at a time. That makes it easier to see what a weapon, accessory or secondary option changes before you settle on a preferred combination.

The public descriptions do not give button mappings, move lists, timing windows, stamina or damage values. For individual moves and exact effects, use the tutorials and descriptions shown in your version of the game. The difficulty guide summarizes the three modes named by the developer.
