Chained Beasts: fight together, trip together

Genre
Co-op gladiator roguelike · 1–4 players
Status
Full game released on Steam October 15, 2026

An arena is hard enough without a friend pulling you in the wrong direction. In Featherweight Games’ Chained Beasts, one to four players take on gladiatorial fights, with co-op partners physically linked by chains. Coordinating movement becomes part of surviving the next attack.

Use the arena, and mind the chain

The arena gives you more than a weapon swing. Throw a weapon, use loose objects and exploit hazards while keeping track of where your partners are heading. A chain can help the group fight, but bad positioning can turn teamwork into a tangle. Between battles, equipment, skills and character unlocks give the next run a different shape.

Carry the wounds into the next fight

Injuries are another complication: a limp or impaired vision can change how a fighter handles the next encounter. Treatment has trade-offs too. This looks especially suited to groups that enjoy improvised co-op and runs that go wrong in memorable ways; solo play is also listed.

How to start on October 24

The full game released on Steam on October 15, 2026, with Windows and macOS requirements and Simplified Chinese interface/subtitle support. Same-screen co-op needs at least one gamepad. Start from the current full-game listing, which also exposes a “Download Mac Demo” link; this is not a promise of demo availability on every platform.

Choose the same branch before grouping up

Featherweight’s October 22 announcement describes 1.0.2 as an opt-in beta for testing balance changes. It is separate from the public default version, and the developer says beta players cannot crossplay with that version or other platforms. A group should agree on its branch before joining. The announced November progression changes remain plans.

What a Chained Beasts wiki could cover

Chain positioning, arena hazards, injury treatments and equipment choices would benefit from concise references. The +1 vote below helps prioritize possible coverage; no new wiki is announced.
