Hull Rupture: build the ship, shape the invasion

Genre
Ship management · tower defense · roguelite
Status
Full game planned for November 4, 2026; free Steam demo available, checked October 28

Your spaceship is both a factory and a battlefield. In Hull Rupture, you manage one of humanity’s remaining vessels under the orders of Despot AI, keeping its systems running while aliens tear their way aboard. Konfa Games combines base management, tower defense and roguelite decisions, with a darkly comic attitude toward expendable crew.

Keep the machinery running

Build connected modules that produce resources, repair damage and support defenses. Power, materials and human labor all compete for attention. Between attacks, decide whether the next purchase should strengthen your guns or relieve a production bottleneck. The September demo update replaced individual shop offers with themed containers, so choosing between turret and production supplies is part of preparing for the next wave.

Your hull is part of the defense

The developer’s October 22 construction breakdown explains why ship shape matters. Entering Hull Construction pauses flight and offers a block of empty module slots. Placement determines both future building space and the route intruders must take. A compact layout helps crew travel and neighboring-module effects; a stretched layout can create longer approaches and firing positions.

The trade-off is permanent: placed hull blocks cannot be removed, and the airlock and engine must remain unobstructed. The question is not simply how many guns you can afford, but where the next extension leaves room to use them.

Plan for the breach and the next destination

Steam describes advance warning of when and where alien waves will arrive. Turrets, traps and barricades let you prepare a route of concentrated fire before attackers reach the airlock. Galaxy routes add another decision layer between destinations and opportunities. This should appeal to players who enjoy adjusting a production layout and then seeing whether their defensive plan survives contact.

The star map pictured here is an older press capture showing a shipyard destination. The newer construction system described above supersedes that screenshot’s hull-expansion instructions. Both images are April 22 prerelease press assets, rather than verified current-demo or final-build captures.

Start with the demo

Checked October 28: the full game is still planned for November 4, 2026. The separate free demo, released June 15, supports Simplified Chinese and describes a tutorial plus a replayable standard run ending after 20 waves and a final boss. The broader advertised ship and mode selection is not a checklist of demo content.

The developer’s September 25 notes acknowledge unresolved performance problems, particularly in long runs; the October 22 construction log does not establish that these have all been resolved. For a first run, watch whether your production can support your defenses and how a new hull block changes enemy paths.

What a wiki would cover

A practical Hull Rupture wiki could connect production dependencies and power needs with module footprints, turret ranges, hull layouts and wave threats. It could also separate route events and current demo rules from the full release as updates arrive. Use the interest button if you would consult those references; both language editions share the same count.
