Every delivery starts in the truck bed

In MythicOwl’s single-player adventure, you drive an old pickup around a countryside valley, taking jobs from its residents. Before setting off, you place the cargo yourself. Different shapes, weights and fragile objects make loading part of the challenge; then you have to get that arrangement through bends, bumps and difficult terrain.

The appeal is the connection between packing and driving. A successful run depends on more than reaching a marker: the load has to travel with you. Deliveries lead to further errands, while exploring for scrap supplies another route toward improving the truck.

Upgrades open the valley

The developer describes interconnected regions rather than one unrestricted open world. Capacity and handling upgrades change what the pickup can carry, while equipment such as boosters and a snorkel enables new ways through the landscape. Towns give way to marshes, tunnels and hidden roads.

There is a story beneath those errands. Conversations and discoveries gradually point toward the old forest, with supernatural hazards interrupting the peaceful scenery. This may suit players who enjoy hands-on transport problems and exploration with an unsettling edge.

Before you start

Launch patches are still arriving. On October 10, MythicOwl released patch 1.0.2, build 56, saying it addresses softlocks, adds an emergency exit to Hotel Hub and introduces basic keyboard remapping.

In the October 12 patch 1.0.3 notes, MythicOwl says the map now shows your position without GPS, adds safe travel to Theresa and a new safe respawn zone at her hub, expands the area for picking up lost cargo, and improves stability on Steam Deck and SteamOS devices.

The October 13 patch 1.0.4 adds manual camera control while driving: use the right stick, or Numpad 4/6 to turn the view and 8/2 to raise or lower it within its permitted range. R3 or Numpad 5 restores the automatic camera. Turning the truck around or returning to the main menu also resets it; a fixed local camera temporarily pauses your manual view and restores it when you leave.

Patch 1.0.4 also lets you replay the most recently completed story mission from the Journal’s Missions tab with Y, R or the Replay button, then confirmation. Starting a replay cancels any active delivery. Replay is unavailable during a mission that cannot be interrupted.

The same patch reduces scrap costs: Boost 5 → 4, Snorkel 15 → 10, Metal Detector 25 → 18, Ram 40 → 20 and Howler 50 → 25. Scrap that falls off the truck now has a distinct map marker, separate from lost packages.

The Journal cheat has changed too: quickly tap or click the pin on its right page 10 times, less than 0.8 seconds apart. Its choices are $100, Scrap ×100 or Nothing. Scrap ×100 replaces the old Go to Theresa teleport; that earlier teleport is no longer an option in this menu.

These are shipped changes documented for 1.0.4, alongside the older 1.0.3 history above. The developer separately plans a major December content update covering scrap collection and the currency economy; that future work is not part of the delivered 1.0.4 changes.

Explore after the story

On October 22, 2026, MythicOwl released patch 1.1.0. After finishing the story, choose Explore the Valley from the main menu to return to the valley before the disaster, complete side jobs and replay missions from the Journal. The mode uses a separate “peak” save, which the patch says keeps story progress intact. The update also adds GPS guidance for side missions, a Cargo Protection stat, mouse camera control, and fixes for lost packages not saving correctly and packages counted as loaded outside the cargo bed. The developer says a larger December update for scrap collection and the currency economy is planned; it is future work, not part of 1.1.0.

What a wiki here would cover

A Truckful wiki would go job by job, with how to pack each awkward load. It would list every truck upgrade and the routes it opens, from capacity and handling to the boosters and the snorkel, the scrap to be found in each region, and the fixes in each patch. If you would use that, give the game a thumbs-up below: the votes tell us which game to cover next.
