Getting started: follow the first systems

Autopsy table

Use the journal and tutorial prompts to decide what to do next. The quest and tutorial records below identify useful systems to learn, but they do not prove a single required day-by-day route or current-build walkthrough.

The opening morgue tutorial directs you to place a body on the autopsy table and points you toward a book about autopsies. Read the relevant skill text before extracting or replacing parts: the tutorial says procedures can fail, and some part information is hidden until you learn the needed skill.

Keep the two body goals distinct. For burial, the tutorial recommends more white skulls and fewer red skulls. For zombies, the resurrection tutorial says more red skulls and fewer white skulls are better. See the morgue workflow and body reference for the extracted part data.

The tutorial places the Study Table in the Church basement and says it grants the first blue Tech Point. At the table, spend Science to study items for red, green, and blue Tech Points. If you need more Science, the tutorial points to studying or decomposing Science-bearing items such as Paper and Science kits. The extracted table gives two repeatable examples: one Clean Paper produces 1 Science, while one Science Kit I produces 30 Science. These production actions grant no Tech Points themselves. A study example is one Blood plus 1 Science, which gives 5 red and 10 blue Tech Points once; choose an available, not-yet-studied subject with a positive blue value.

Use study and sermons for a practical table routine and the study reference for known subjects and materials.

  • The tutorial says sermons can be held at the Church every day of Wrath. They spend Happiness and require Church quality (the cross icon); the lower of those values determines parishioner attendance. Better ceremonies require more of that lower value to succeed.
  • Town orders can only be accepted on the day of Pride. Deliver their required goods to the Town Warehouse. Urgent orders must be completed in full within one week.

Treat these as recurring opportunities, not tasks that must happen in a specific opening week. The sermon reference and orders reference list their extracted details.

One quest record sends you to bring Dream Dust to the Plague Doctor at the Abandoned Tower. A later objective tells you to follow Albert through the hatch in the Alchemy Lab; the closed quest text then says you have personal zombies. The extracted records do not establish a universal timing for these objectives, so follow the journal as they appear.

After resurrection becomes available, prepare a corpse, Reanimation Liquid, Faith, and a Zombie Collar. The room is powered on the day of Envy. Check the zombie cap and the collar grade if the device refuses a body. Then use zombie work to put workers on queued jobs and set up supplies.

  • If no corpse arrives, the quest text says to speak with Agatha at the Crossroads to restore corpse delivery. Better-corpses objectives also point to Agatha; the morgue reference records the relevant procedures and setup.
  • If an autopsy option or skull contribution is unclear, learn the relevant skill first; the tutorial explicitly says some information requires it.
  • If you are short on Science, look for items that contain it and study or decompose them at the Study Table.
  • If a sermon attracts few parishioners, compare Happiness with Church quality: attendance uses the lower value. Quests and orders are tutorial-listed ways to earn Happiness.
  • If a zombie cannot be raised, check for vital organs, required Reanimation Liquid, a suitable Zombie Collar, the weekly powered day, and the zombie limit.

These steps summarize tutorial and quest strings from the local game-data extraction, revision game-files-4225c1748c2a; they have not been tested in a current build. See the database overview for extraction scope. The official demo launch trailer is included as broad context only; its demo footage does not verify these instructions for the released game.
