Fishing
According to the game’s tutorial, you can fish at designated spots. Choose your bait, though sometimes you can fish without it. When you get a bite, press the key quickly to start the minigame, then hold it to reel the fish in. Do not pull while the fish is fighting back or the line will snap. If you have trouble catching fish, raise your green talent. This page lists the fish at each spot, and the baits and rods.

- Spot is the area the fishing spot is in.
- Bait lists the baits the fish takes at that spot. The number after × is the bait’s modifier for that fish.
- The bait descriptions in the game name other baits for 17 of the 22 fish. These tables follow what each fishing spot uses.
- “
No Bait” is the fishing menu’s synthetic no-bait choice, not an inventory item consumed on a cast. Only fish with a positive No Bait modifier are eligible for that choice. The fish rows follow the extracted fishing definitions; the conflicting bait descriptions remain an unresolved source difference. - Anger is one input to fish difficulty; the
Fisherman perk lowers the listed anger expression. The tutorial’s advice is not to pull while the fish fights back. - The fish item’s stored Talent value is not read by the reviewed minigame path. Difficulty uses the fishing definition’s anger, resistance and settings. For the minigame’s talent inputs, see units and formulas.
- The minigame mastery input adds current Green talent, the applicable perk mastery bonus and matching green bonuses from toolbelt items. The selected rod is chosen from the toolbelt, so its green bonus contributes while it remains carried; the selected rod bonus is also read separately for tension. Tension uses mastery plus that rod bonus, while pull progress uses mastery alone. This describes code inputs and arithmetic, not a catch guarantee or an optimal skill threshold.
- The code confirms that Day is the first time-of-day modifier and Night the second. Fish are selected in proportion to base weight × bait modifier × day/night modifier × the fish’s current count in the reservoir; the spot starts with the counts in its fish definitions. The units and formulas page gives the normalized-time boundary, minigame inputs and nominal regeneration unit, and explains why those facts do not promise a real-world wait time.
- On catch: each of the four fish that
Live Bait attracts unlocks a technology, named after a dish, when caught. - A fish’s, bait’s or rod’s name links to the item on the items page, where its price and description are.
