Nimble throwing specialist

Battle Brothers cover artwork

A Nimble thrower deals its best damage at two tiles, close enough for heavy javelins to hit hard. Favor high RSK, Hitpoints that reach roughly 80–90 after Colossus, and Fatigue for repeated throws. Initiative can help secure a turn before a dangerous target, but reliable RSK matters more. A combined body-and-helmet Fatigue penalty around 15 is a practical Nimble target, not a fixed cutoff.

Bundle of Heavy Javelins Bundle of Heavy Throwing Axes

Keep one stack of heavy javelins in the main hand. Put two spare throwing stacks in the backpack, including throwing axes; Bags and Belts provides four inventory slots for those stacks, a dagger and a net. Throwing weapons carry their own ammunition, so no separate quiver is needed. Wear light armor and a vision-preserving helmet. Take RSK most levels, then useful Hitpoints and Fatigue.

Use Quick Hands once per turn to rotate between stacks without spending AP. Javelins are a strong choice against armored living enemies. Switch to axes against Ancient Dead, who resist piercing damage. At two tiles, Throwing Mastery raises damage; Duelist adds 25 percentage points to armor-ignoring damage when the off hand is empty. Berserk returns 4 AP once per turn after a kill; Killing Frenzy boosts subsequent damage. Extra throws still need enough Fatigue and another target, so prioritize a wounded enemy you can finish.

Fearsome only pressures morale on susceptible enemies; Ancient Dead are immune and some high-Resolve beasts resist it. The tradeoff is short range: peak damage puts the thrower near danger, and a long battle can exhaust the carried stacks. Choose a bow sniper for reach or a crossbow hybrid for an opening shot before throwing. Compare the weapon-build index, then check the weapon reference and combat guide for skills and turn rules.
