Black Monolith and the Conqueror

Discover the Monolith in the wilderness. The entrance offers battle or withdrawal; withdrawing before the fight yields no reward and leaves time to rework the roster.
Read the army
Section titled “Read the army”The documented 47 enemies are eight Legionaries and seven polearm Legionaries, fourteen Honor Guards and eight polearm Honor Guards, six
Necrosavants, three Priests, and
the Conqueror. This is a long Ancient Dead fight with mobile threats, not simply one boss to rush.
Fight plan
Section titled “Fight plan”
- Hold the line. Bring armor-damaging melee weapons and protect exposed brothers from Necrosavants while the main force advances. Priests and flankers punish a lone unsupported attacker.
- Control the Conqueror. His armor reflects damage from adjacent attackers, including a ranged attack made while adjacent; the effect persists after that armor breaks. Attack from two tiles away with a suitable polearm, or use stuns while clearing nearby enemies.
- Preserve a failed attempt. If the roster is not prepared, use the entrance’s withdrawal choice. Once engaged, retreat where possible if the line collapses. For a rematch, solve both armor damage and the mobile flank threat; morale support alone does not counter this army.
See the enemy encounters for the individual forms. The portrait uses one valid skeleton face variant and the Conqueror’s fixed armor and laurels; its exact in-game face can vary.
Claim the reward
Section titled “Claim the reward”After victory, inspect the armor to receive Emperor’s Armor. The armor worn by the enemy is not this fixed reward.
