The archive defines 16 named origins. An origin can change starting characters, resources, company rules or objectives; the table summarizes what its scenario script explicitly sets. “Starting background entries” counts scripted starting slots, not the number of recruits a company can eventually hire. The displayed difficulty is a script rating, not an independently tested difficulty ranking.

The availability column names the store expansion required by each origin. The Random selector itself is gated by Warriors of the North; it does not represent a fixed starting roster. The Oathtakers origin requires Of Flesh and Faith; its script also changes starting stash capacity when Blazing Deserts is absent, which is conditional starting behavior rather than an extra origin requirement.
