Sunken Library and the Lorekeeper

Sunken Library scene from the game

Discover the library in the desert. Descending starts the encounter; leaving it undisturbed gives no reward. Bring mobile fighters and attacks that can reach separated or elevated targets.

The documented force is the Lorekeeper, ten Phylacteries, three Lost Treasure Hunters, eight Honor Guards and four polearm Honor Guards. The Lorekeeper can return at a surviving phylactery. The enemy entry gives its abilities; the location’s fixed reward is the Black Book.

Lorekeeper game battle sprite
  1. Stabilize without breaking every nearby phylactery. While any remain, killing the Lorekeeper does not finish it. Destroying phylacteries changes the spells available to him and increases pressure. Contain Honor Guards while advancing toward distant vessels.
  2. Coordinate the last vessels. Bring several brothers into range before destroying the final phylacteries. Throwing axes or other reachable attacks help with elevated vessels. Once all are gone, finish the Lorekeeper promptly rather than spending turns on apparitions.
  3. Respond to spell telegraphs. Leave marked lightning tiles before the next-round strike, avoid ending turns in miasma and keep a spare actor to help anyone disabled by Horror. If vessels were destroyed too early, prioritize reaching the remainder over chasing summons.

Victory awards the Black Book. Reading or trading it is a later decision; neither happens automatically as part of this battle.
