Bard team puzzles

Order of the Sinking Star cover

These eight team rooms pair Bard with other heroes. The routes use charm, switches, crystals and exits in different combinations. Arrows follow the displayed map; the final six-hero room is rotated. For solo rooms, see Bard puzzles.

Warrior and Bard start on separate switches A and B. Goblins M1 and M2 are in the left lanes; a gate and exits E1 and E2 are at the far end.
  • Switches A–B
  • Gate
  • Exits E1–E2
  • WA Warrior
  • BA Bard
  • Goblins M1–M2
Open full-size annotated map in a new tab
Hint

The first Warrior move leaves A, and the Bard’s next move leaves B, so the gate shuts briefly. On the last rightward charm at step 7, M1 lands on A and M2 on B, opening the gate. Leave both Goblins on those switches while the heroes take their exits.

Solution
  1. Warrior moves ←, Bard ↑, and Warrior ↓. Bard then goes ← → → →; on the last rightward move at step 7, M1 occupies A and M2 occupies B, opening the gate; they remain on the switches while Warrior and Bard continue to their exits.
  2. Warrior moves → → →, Bard ↑, then Warrior → ↓. At step 13, Bard is on E1 and Warrior on E2.

If the gate is still closed at step 7, Undo to before Bard’s last rightward charm and guide M1 and M2 onto A and B again.

Bard and Thief: finish the three-switch setup

Section titled “Bard and Thief: finish the three-switch setup”
Bard and Thief work around three numbered crystals, switches A–C, a gate and exits E1 and E2.
  • Crystals 1–3
  • Switches A–C
  • Gate
  • Exits E1–E2
  • BA Bard
  • TH Thief
Open full-size annotated map in a new tab
Hint

The gate opens in several short windows while the Thief and Bard move the three crystals. The openings at steps 38, 52 and 66 close again; continue the setup instead of trying to cross. The final opening at 85 lasts through the exit approach.

Solution
  1. Bard starts with ↓ ↓ ↓ ←, while the Thief makes the first long loop around the crystals. The route briefly opens the gate at step 38, then closes it at 39.
  2. Continue the Thief’s circuit and the Bard’s switch-side moves. The gate opens again at 52 and 66, then closes as the heroes reposition. Keep following the route until Crystal 1 is on A, Crystal 2 on C and Crystal 3 on B.
  3. The crystals hold all three switches and the gate opens for the final time at step 85. The Thief reaches E1 and the Bard E2 at step 94.

If the gate closes before both heroes are ready to exit, continue the crystal placement; do not undo one of the earlier short openings. Undo only if a crystal has been moved away from its final switch.

Bard, Thief and Warrior: leave Warrior on E3

Section titled “Bard, Thief and Warrior: leave Warrior on E3”
Warrior begins on exit E3 at the gate. Bard and Thief route through four numbered crystals and switches A–D toward exits E1 and E2.
  • Crystals 1–4
  • Switches A–D
  • Gate
  • Exits E1–E3
  • TH Thief
  • BA Bard
  • WA Warrior

Hint

The Warrior starts on E3 and stays there for the whole route. Keep him in place while Bard and Thief work around the four crystals and reach E2 and E1.

Solution
  1. Keep Warrior on E3. The Thief takes the route around the crystal lane while the Bard crosses to the left side; the four crystals remain on switches A–D and the gate opens at the first step.
  2. Follow the upper and lower loops to bring the Thief to E1 and the Bard to E2. At step 39 all three exits are occupied: Thief E1, Bard E2 and Warrior E3.

If the Warrior has been moved off E3, Undo and keep him on that starting exit while the other two heroes complete their loops.

Bard and Wizard: follow the changing gates

Section titled “Bard and Wizard: follow the changing gates”
Bard and Wizard move between crystals 1 and 2, switches A and B, three gates G1–G3 and exits E1 and E2.
  • Crystals 1–2
  • Switches A–B
  • Gates G1–G3
  • Exits E1–E2
  • BA Bard
  • WI Wizard
Open full-size annotated map in a new tab
Hint

Track the gate markers as the crystals move. G3 opens at step 1; at step 21 it closes as G1 opens. Keep following the route, and G2 opens at step 66.

Solution
  1. Guide the two crystals toward switches A and B as Bard and Wizard take turns crossing the lanes. G3 opens on the first step.
  2. At step 21, G3 closes and G1 opens. Guide both crystals toward their switches while the pair continue through the center and right-hand lanes.
  3. G2 opens at step 66. Complete the exit approaches; Bard reaches E1 and Wizard E2 at step 83, with Crystal 1 on A and Crystal 2 on B.

If G3 closes at step 21, continue toward the next gate marker rather than reversing the crystal setup.

Hint

Bard moves Crystal 1 across the room and onto switch A. Once the gate opens, keep the crystal on A while the Priestess and Bard finish the two exit paths.

Solution
  1. Priestess takes the upper loop while the Bard guides Crystal 1 across the middle of the room. Continue the Bard’s route until the crystal reaches A; the gate opens at step 32.
  2. Keep Crystal 1 on A. The two heroes take the remaining left-side route and reach the exits at step 48: Bard E1 and Priestess E2.

If the gate is closed, bring Crystal 1 back to A before taking the final exit loop.

Bard and Druid start to the right of Goblin M1. Plant T1 is on switch B at the far right; switch A is left of M1. Five gates span the center, with G6 and G7 beside exits E1 and E2.

  • Switches A–B
  • Gates G1–G7
  • Exits E1–E2
  • BA Bard
  • DR Druid
  • Goblin M1
Open full-size annotated map in a new tab
Hint

Bard first guides M1 onto A. Druid changes T1 into a crystal and Bard carries it toward the far switch, but the plant form also matters: restore T1 on the tile immediately right of A so it blocks M1 while the heroes reposition. At the final relay, Druid stands on B while T1 is still one tile away; Bard’s last Down input puts the crystal on B and keeps exit gates G6 and G7 open.

Solution
  1. Bard moves M1 onto A by step 2. Druid reaches T1 and turns it into a crystal at step 10; Bard guides T1 left to the tile immediately right of A by step 38.
  2. Druid restores T1 to a plant at step 39. M1 returns to A at step 41, and T1 on the tile right of A blocks M1’s path to the right at step 42. Druid changes T1 back into a crystal at step 44; Bard carries it along the far side while Druid circles toward B.
  3. At step 59, Druid stands on B, opening exit gates G6 and G7, while T1 remains diagonally above-left. On step 61, Bard’s final Down input (↓) moves T1 onto B as Druid reaches E1 and Bard reaches E2, keeping both exit gates open.

If M1 is not on A at step 2, Undo and repeat Bard’s opening lure. If T1 misses B at the final relay, undo to the approach and leave Druid on B before Bard’s last move.

Open full-size annotated map in a new tab
Hint

Druid changes T1 between plant and crystal form as the pair work around M1. The route restores T1 to a plant before the exits; M1 remains alive.

Solution
  1. Druid changes T1 to a crystal at step 14, restores it at 18, then changes it again at 20. Keep following the Bard and Druid loops as T1 is moved through the side lanes.
  2. The Druid restores T1 to a plant at step 56. The route keeps M1 on the board and finishes with Bard on E1 and Druid on E2 at step 69.

If T1 blocks the next passage, Undo to the previous Druid turn and follow the Bard’s position before changing it again.

Hint

Druid converts the plants to crystals, and Bard moves those crystals to clear the Wizard’s route. Keep the Priestess beside the Druid as he approaches M1; the Goblin is frozen at step 81. The finish uses six different exits.

Solution
  1. Druid begins turning plants into crystals while Warrior, Wizard and Bard move through separate lanes. Keep the Priestess beside the Druid as he approaches M1; the Druid’s move at step 81 freezes the Goblin.
  2. Continue with the Thief and Warrior through the lower lanes. Druid converts T5 at step 2 and T1 at 38, then T2 at 123 and T4 at 146. T6 becomes a crystal at 157; Bard shifts it toward the Wizard’s passage. Druid converts T3 at 164, completing all six plant-to-crystal changes.
  3. Finish at the six distinct exits: Bard E1, Druid E2, Wizard E3, Priestess E4, Warrior E5 and Thief E6. The route completes at step 199 with M1 still frozen.

If the Priestess is no longer beside the Druid near M1, Undo to their approach before step 81. If the Wizard’s passage remains blocked, follow Bard’s crystal moves before taking the last exits.
