Undo and checkpoints

Order of the Sinking Star cover

When a move leaves a puzzle in a dead end, use Undo to return to an earlier state and reconsider the move. The game text describes Undo as returning to a solvable state. Holding Undo can reverse a reset and return to the previous state.

Restart restarts the level. If a checkpoint is active, resetting returns to that checkpoint. Keep the terms distinct when deciding what to try: Undo steps back through state, while Restart starts again from the level’s starting point or its checkpoint.

A useful sequence is to undo the last move that changed the space you need; if the state is too far gone, consider a reset and confirm where it returns you. See controls for action labels and when stuck for a spoiler-light routine.
