Chemistry workshop

Setup
The Chemist starts with a manual, blender, heating plate, finisher, measuring equipment and scanner. Work in stages: measure the inputs, mix or treat them in the appropriate apparatus, inspect the composition, and finish the product. Keep a suitable container available instead of treating every liquid vessel as interchangeable.
How it works
A finisher recipe specifies a batch volume, an active ingredient and whether the mixture must be dry. The table gives millilitres: internal units are one-thousandth of a millilitre. A 2 mL requirement is not 2,000 mL. Meeting total volume alone does not establish a good active-ingredient concentration or a high-grade product.
Checks before committing
Use the scanner to check composition and temperature before committing a batch. Heating, evaporation and blending are different operations. If the finisher will not start, check the selected recipe, volume and wet/dry condition; then check power and output space. Do not confuse the finished item’s reference price with its current sale offer.
Coffee to caffeine
- Blend coffee beans into a suitable vessel and inspect for coffee mush. Add water, then heat to at least 80°C for water extraction; the alcohol extraction route starts at 50°C. Do not assume the two solvents give the same yield.
- The reaction turns mush into caffeine and plant matter. Check composition after processing. To finish caffeine, select its recipe and meet its 5 mL dry-batch requirement; total volume alone does not establish purity.
DreamCap to Dream Dust
- Blend uncooked DreamCap, add alcohol and heat to 40°C or above. Keep below 60°C while extracting: DreamCap extract starts degrading at 60°C. More heat is not a universal speed or yield improvement.
- Alcohol at five times the mush amount reaches this reaction’s maximum extract fraction; less alcohol reduces it. Separate evaporative liquid with suitable equipment, inspect the remaining composition, then select Dream Dust in the finisher and meet its 2 mL dry-batch requirement.
Nightmare extract and temperature
- Mix Nightmare Cap mash with alcohol and heat to at least 40°C. A 5:1 alcohol-to-mash ratio reaches the extraction factor’s cap of 0.5; more alcohol does not raise that cap. The rest of the processed mash becomes plant matter.
- Keep the extract below 50°C when preserving it. Degradation starts at 50°C and accelerates at higher temperatures; the extraction temperature and the storage temperature serve different purposes. Inspect the mixture before finishing 4 mL into Nightmare Dust.
From Dream extract to Nomore
- Use Dream Cap extract with reducing agent and Lipobond agent at 45–55°C. Alcohol must be no more than 10% of total volume. Remove excess alcohol first; adding the reagents to an alcohol-rich extraction batch will not start this reaction.
- The reaction is faster from 50°C. Lipobond reaches its rate cap at one part per four parts of extract. Equal amounts of extract and reducing agent are consumed; the converted amount yields 60% Nomore and 40% debris, with rounding. Lipobond controls the rate rather than being consumed by this reaction.
- Separate unwanted components and inspect the finished mixture before making a 4 mL injector. Heat also degrades Dream extract, and Lipobond can react with fat, so the recipe’s temperature window alone does not guarantee a pure batch.
Separate first, grade the product last
- Put a suitable mixture container in the evaporator and a receiving vessel in its distillate slot. Evaporation removes all components marked evaporative proportionally; it does not select only the desired substance. Performance changes the amount processed and quality controls the recovered fraction. The Solvent Recovery module restricts recovery to alcohol, not the removal from the input.
- Do not treat sedimentation as disappearance of impurities. Stabilizer with acid or base produces debris; acid/base imbalance can turn protein into debris, and Lipobond reacts with fat to form debris. Scan again after treatment instead of adding every cleaning reagent together.
- Product purity is active ingredient divided by total product volume. The finisher transfers a recipe-sized portion and then introduces contamination: its loss setting is 12, 6, 3, 1 or 0 for zero, one, two, three or four-plus upgrade modules. Inspect the output, not just the input. The grade thresholds below are minimum percentages.
Methylol to Fantyl
- Combine Methylol and reducing agent at 110°C up to, but not including, 130°C. The reaction runs faster from 120°C. Stabilizer protects an equal amount of Methylol from this reaction, so a batch with at least as much stabilizer as Methylol will not react.
- Keep the product below 130°C: at or above that temperature, Fantyl loses 2% per heat-reaction handling, with integer truncation. Inspect composition and separate unwanted components before making the 0.5 mL finished product. Do not turn a processing rate into a promise about elapsed time.

Treat contamination in a separate test batch
Scan the starting mixture, separate a small batch, then inspect it again after processing. Acid/base can mineralize organic waste and remove microbes, but that is not the same as making safe saleable water: minerals, leftover reagents and debris still affect composition. Acid/base also precipitate protein and destabilize stabilizing agent; Lipobond converts fat into debris while being consumed. Filter or separate the resulting debris and check the actual liquid before relabeling it. The examples show one processing check, not a complete batch or seconds. In a mixed batch, earlier reactions change the ingredients available to later ones; neutralization runs after mineralization, microbe removal and sedimentation.
| Processing example | One-check result |
|---|---|
| 40 mL waste +1 mL acid | 40 mL waste processed → 4 mL mineral; 1 mL acid consumed |
| 20 mL microbes +1 mL acid | 20 mL microbes removed; 0.2 mL acid consumed |
| 0.5 mL acid +0.5 mL base | Both 0.5 mL portions consumed |
| 8 mL fat +1 mL Lipobond | 1.6 mL fat and 0.2 mL agent consumed → 1.8 mL debris |
Heating changes contaminants, not just temperature
Inspect composition before increasing heat. From 70°C to below 100°C, a heat-reaction check leaves 80% of the microbes, rounded down; at 100°C it sets that component to zero. Alcohol-based microbe removal requires at least 40% alcohol by total volume. Neither process establishes that every other component is safe or desirable.
Organic waste begins changing at 80°C: below 100°C one check processes 15%, rounded up; at 100°C it processes the whole waste component. About 33% of the processed amount becomes physical contamination, with rounding. Do not mistake a disappearing waste reading for pure product. Separate unwanted material, rescan, and respect the extract temperature limits above. These are component reactions, not a purifier output forecast or a timer.
