Lou: the bomb, toy box and debt

Lou: the bomb, toy box and debt

Why Lou appears after a permit

Story spoilers. Lou’s first-visit scheduling requires the business permit. After eligibility begins, low cash below 75 credits can trigger the offer; an unpaid rent or mortgage day that you cannot cover can also qualify. Otherwise there is a fourteen-day fallback from eligibility. These are scheduling conditions, not a fixed arrival day. Reporting her initial wanted visit pays a 1,500-credit bounty but does not finish the storyline: a morning return becomes eligible three days after the recorded arrest.

Keep the two kinds of bomb separate

The first planted device is Lou’s fake bomb. Disarming reveals its fake name and description; leaving that initial device until night also disarms it without ending the game. Later retaliation is a separate real-bomb branch; do not assume every Lou explosive is harmless. Keep the toy box and its contents intact while waiting for collection. Collection distinguishes Untouched, Peeked and Taken; taking its contents leads to real-bomb retaliation. Only Lou’s marked toys count toward collection. Use the checklist below; ordinary replacements do not count.

Prepare for the 1,500-credit demand

After the disguise visit, the demand becomes eligible seven days later. The full target is 1,500 credits. Accepted weapons, ammunition and medical items add their nonnegative negotiated value, not their catalog’s base price; watch the remaining amount after each trade. Cash can cover a balance. The “That’s All I Have” route separately compares supplied value plus available cash with 500; below that minimum it selects the debt-bomb outcome. A partial settlement is not the same as meeting the full 1,500 target. Read the settlement dialogue before dismissing her.

Keep the toy-box contents together

Story spoilers

The initial box contains the four marked items shown below. Keep Lou’s marked toys together in the box until collection. An ordinary copy of the same item does not replace a missing marked toy. Opening the box and taking toys are separate checks.

  1. Leave the marked toys in the box; ordinary extras do not raise the toy count.
  2. Keep personal goods elsewhere. Collection tries to move non-toy contents to the shop’s front area before destroying the box; check that area afterward.
  3. An opened box can still be classified as peeked if enough marked toys remain. Fewer marked toys takes priority over the opened state and counts as taken.
