Revolution

A revolutionary

The Revolution outlived a failed uprising in the Lower Levels and is getting ready for the next one. Its members need supplies and money, and they notice which shopkeepers help.

  • Revolution Raiders sell supplies “liberated” from the oppressors, and every credit goes back to the cause. From +80 standing (Raid Loot) members come to sell off raid loot, at prices that improve with your standing.
  • The Revolution Quartermaster sells Materials at a discount from +40 standing, and the discount grows with your standing.
  • Wanted revolutionaries: Arthur Lafleur and Odin Haraldsson. See Wanted.

The Revolution has a bootstrapping problem: you cannot trade your way in. Only two customer types are Revolution, and both are locked behind standing you don’t have yet — the Quartermaster arrives at +40, raid loot sellers at +80, and even the marketplace request needs +20.

Until then the only levers are the ones that don’t need a customer:

What moves it Effect
An Alarm Transmitter Module broadcast +1, once
Shooting a confirmed aug +2
A Revolution Marketplace Request, from +20 the reputation printed on the request
Trading with the Quartermaster or a raider, from +40 and +80 the standard rate
Shooting an ordinary customer −10
Reporting a Revolution customer −8, then 2 worse each time, down to −20
The blackmailer being caught −30

Two of the eight faces on the wanted list, Arthur Lafleur and Odin Haraldsson, are revolutionaries: turning either in pays Security and costs the Revolution. Known Snitch starts you at −10 and Blabbermouth halves every gain, so those two perks make a Revolution run considerably harder.

See Reputation & factions for the shared rate and the multipliers that apply to every trade.

Perks switch on as your standing reaches each value: good ones at or above a positive number, penalties at or below a negative one.

At −100 you are declared an enemy of the revolution. A hit squad is assigned, and the run ends with a bomb in your store.

  • Revolution Mobilization: cells prepare a major operation, and weapon, medical supply and armor prices surge.
  • Raids on Security and on the Upper Levels: clashes raise demand for medical supplies, and looted household goods reach the Lower Levels.
  • Security raids on revolutionary safehouses and martial law weaken or suppress the movement.
