Setup

After-hours locations have their own availability and event state. The built-in location registry includes the Dumping Grounds, Commissary and Dr. Jackson’s workshop. A location’s presence in the list does not override its discovery, opening or story conditions. Check the current event before planning a visit.

How it works

The event reference includes Fresh Dump, Georgio’s Assistance, workshop closure, special stock, a workshop discount, Commissary burglary and fresh restock. These change different parts of a visit: search conditions, access, workshop offers or restocking. Do not treat a stock event as a free delivery or a listed event as active every night.

Checks before committing

Read the location panel and prepare for the activity you actually intend to perform. Search equipment and injuries matter at the Dumping Grounds; purchasing funds and available stock matter at a shop. Serpico’s food window is a separate story condition tied to the Dumping Grounds, so check that guide before leaving food.

Plan an evening around the active event

Check discovery, opening and the event panel before moving goods. Fresh Dump is scheduled for Wednesday, Jackson’s discount for Sunday, and Commissary Fresh Restock for Friday. On Monday Jackson is closed without Special Stock; unlocking Special Stock changes that Monday event to a special sale. Georgio’s help is story-triggered rather than a daily random promise. Fresh Dump reduces junk chance but raises injury chance; Georgio’s help grants injury immunity and five extra searches while active. These effects do not create a guaranteed item drop.

Work through a search safely

1. Put search tools in the after-hours inventory before searching.
2. Search once, then inspect the injury message and remaining attempts before repeating.
3. Minor injury, major injury or a bad-luck empty search can replace the loot result; the attempt counter still advances.
4. Successful finds are added to the after-hours inventory, so collect the goods you want to keep before leaving.
5. A temporary wound-immunity search allowance is also spent by searches; do not assume one lucky empty result preserves it.

Find the right after-hours visit

Commissary trading becomes available after stamps are introduced, provided you are not banned from the Commissary. Jackson’s location needs his introduction or a skipped introduction, and is blocked by the Lower Levels’ Avoided perk. At Jackson, an active Special Stock event selects the special inventory; otherwise the normal inventory is placed. Check the current offer before committing your credits. The Dumping Grounds are unavailable with the Maimed starting perk; their Scavenge action updates the remaining-attempt display after each search. These access rules do not set a guaranteed reward or visit frequency.
