September 14, 2026 · Steam post

  • Probably Stolen launches on October 28, 2026. A new demo replaces the open playtest, and playtest saves transfer to it.
  • The demo offers three starting scenarios plus Rock Bottom. See Starting scenarios.
  • Content:
    • A new early-game machine, the Fridge, with a matching new item, Bei’s Premium Vanilla Icecream. Chilled drinks sell for more, and the ice cream sells higher once frozen overnight.
    • Two starting perks designed for challenge runs: Known Snitch and Degenerative Osteoarthritis.
    • Equip mode: pick up a tool once and use it on several items in a row.
    • The Toolbox stores tools, including the blue and red labelers, and keys 1–9 equip them. Dr. Jackson sells it after day 14.
    • Common Electronics upgrade the Bottle Printer to print normal and large bottles.
    • A Common Electronic gives the Cleaner Robot an incinerator that burns the feces it collects, at double the power.
  • Quality of life:
    • Drag a selection box to move or use several items at once; hold Shift for precise placement into another inventory.
    • Right-click a grid inventory to sort it.
    • A Discover button on the load screen finds saves copied in from other players.
    • Open and preview containers and machines before buying them.
    • Rotate and flip a dragged item with the mouse wheel and middle click.
    • Drag an owned battery, or a desequencer crypto module, onto another to swap them.
    • Delete sends a hovered owned item to the trash, Escape closes the most recent window first, and up to 25 inventory windows can be open.
    • New settings dismiss a customer instantly, dismiss and call the next one, or call Security instantly. The game drops to 10 FPS while minimized unless you turn that off.
    • Full screen on non-16:9 monitors can dock UI panels onto the black bars, and nightly logs and reports survive reloading.
  • Changes:
    • Winning lottery tickets can be redeemed immediately.
    • Pouring wine into a liquid container makes a new Wine Extract liquid.
    • Premium Spring Water now counts as water, but only Upper Levels customers accept it.
    • Water containers count as water goods only while they hold liquid, and as household goods when empty. The water pitcher is also a household item.
    • Bargaining changes customer budgets differently, and a buy-side or sell-side bargain no longer affects reputation for the other direction.
    • The Thief’s stock scales with Black Market reputation.
    • Animal cages: wear scales with the size of the living animals inside, and dead animals, equipment and stored items cause none. Each ingot size upgrade adds 20 maximum and current durability, and scrap repairs restore 50% of maximum durability instead of 50 points.
    • Machines can no longer be placed inside animal cages, except cage equipment such as the Cleaner Robot and the feed dispenser.
    • Nobody stocks Supply or Science keycards or their desequencer chips any more, since no supply crates use them.
    • Fanta is renamed Phanta.
    • Starting perks: Model Citizen’s reporting bonus rises from 20% to 50%. Intimidating cuts evidence by 33% instead of 25% and costs 2 points instead of 3. Addiction perks raise the trading penalty from 5% to 8%, start you with one item for your addiction, and begin withdrawal immediately. Gambling Addiction also buys scratch tickets.
    • The Security Supply Crate has been buffed.
    • Save files are smaller and faster, and late-game sleep is shorter.
  • Fixes include:
    • Several ways to use items you don’t own, or to put owned items into containers you don’t own.
    • Item features such as Tourist Tax carrying over to other customers.
    • Sold containers counting their contents at the wrong price.
    • Dr. Jackson losing his stock when you left quickly, offering duplicates of unique items, or still offering the aug scanner after the aug threat ended.
    • Hiring Wild to remove evidence while an officer was already dispatched permanently disabling Security punishment.
    • Security arresting you over a fine you could afford.
    • The Hydratech Micro Purifier sometimes failing to reach 98% purity.
    • The Learning Algo module not working with the Mirage Projector.

  • One month of playtest stats and feedback. Players want more of everything: unique customers, starting perks, items and machines.
  • Gambling and the Rock Bottom hard-mode scenario are big hits.
  • Quality-of-life changes so far: handling several items at once, equipping tools through the toolbox keybind, inventory sorting, better full screen on non-16:9 monitors, and most of the localization fixes.
  • Store customization is on the developers’ radar.
  • The release date and the new demo arrive on September 14 during the tinyBuild Connect livestream.

August 3, 2026 · Steam post
